Flocculation is a common procedure to separate fine suspended or colloidal impurities from water; fist by coagulation or precipitation of the particles followed by filtration or sedimentation. Therefore, appropriate flocculation agents are needed. For an efficient flocculation and an optimal dosage of the agent, it is necessary to detect the flocculation point (point of neutral charge) of the waste water as well as know about the charge characteristics of the applied flocculant.
With the Mütek PCD-04 Particle Charge Detector and Mütek PCD-T3 Titrator the charge level in waste water (negative) and flocculation agent (positive) can be quantified. Based on the results the right agent in the optimum dosage will be used for waste water treatment.
