DUROBLADE-PHOENIX™ HIGH-PERFORMANCE BLADE FOR PAPER AND BOARD COATING

Duroblade-Phoenix is yet another development of the high-performance blade for paper and board coating from BTG.Duroblade-Phoenix is not a ceramic blade but a tungsten carbide-based coating blade that can achieve substantially longer blade lifetimes than ceramic, as well as a much better coated paper surface.

The tough and dense tip material also ensures better resistance to blade tip damage.

Precise bevels and appropriate surfaces, combined with optimized deposit of tungsten carbide make Duroblade-Phoenix a top-notch blade. It provides improvements of both paper surface properties – e.g. smoothness and gloss – and machine runnability – e.g. reduction of microlines and streaks – in various paper grades, in both bent and stiff applications.

The real advantages of using Duroblade-Phoenix are: stable profile and coatweight control throughout the blade lifetime and stable paper surface properties with a clear reduction of streaks, lines and micro-lines.

Benefits:

  • Superior blade lifetime
  • Excellent coating appearance
  • Improved sheet moisture control
  • Substantial reduction of rheology scratches (micro-lines) and grit scratches
  • Improved paper surface roughness

Features:

  • Tungsten carbide-based, homogenous and extremely dense tip material
  • Tough tip material
  • Superior wear-resistance
  • More resistant to blade tip damage
  • Smooth and shiny surface

The Duroblade-Phoenix series is available in most common blade dimensions.
An edge-wear resistant version is also available.
